We Listened to the Wise Men
As wise old men say…Change is the only constant.
At BBT HQ i.e. my home office, we are under the winds of change.
Firstly, with our string.
Medal of Glory, was sold recently at the Tattersalls February sale. She was agonisingly 4th on her last start for us at Wolverhampton. She broke adequately, then had to be shuffled back in a rough race. We felt she would have got closer with a more positive early position, but that’s racing. She moves on a new pastime, swapping the hustle and bustle of racing for the polo field.
One of our core values is to make sure all horses under our care have a fulfilled life after racing. Be it at the breeding shed or another discipline.
She’s a filly that will always be close to heart, as our “first BBT syndicate horse”. Best of luck to MOG and her new owners!!
Secondly, with personnel.
We announced Tom Bull as our first BBT ambassador. Tom’s an owner in our Holy Roman Emperor filly by night and a Racing TV presenter by day.
After a stellar night as Master of Ceremonies at our Breeders Cup party we felt we needed make the relationship with us more whole!
He will help us produce slick content to owners, with projects such as owner interviews, stable tours and stud visits in the pipeline. All will be documented and brought to you by Tom and us three.
What would you like Tom to do with us? Send us an email…
Tom will be at the helm for our Cheltenham Preview night.
Yes, yes, we are self proclaimed flat racing aficionados but who doesn’t love Cheltenham?
We have had a painful time through Covid. Not being able to meet owners or tell our story to prospective owners, in person. So, any night where we can throw a party in London and talk about horses and racing. We will jump on it!
Tickets are on sale here.
Thirdly, this very newsletter.
A critical element for us to tell you guys, our subscribers, our story.
We take this newsletter very seriously. Not just a humdrum of nonsense sent out each week (well at least we try!). We feel we can improve the readership experience, better stories, more insight, more details.
But we must make changes.
The first of which will be that we will move to a fortnightly schedule. Giving us more time to write, edit and evaluate what we publish.
If you guys would like to see more or less of certain topics, or if you have any cool ideas, please let us know, we do read all emails!
That’s the changes, now for some future plans…
Big Money Entry
Owners involved in our Holy Roman Emperor filly received news last night from Thomas.
€300,000 worth of news to be exact.
She has been entered into the Tattersalls Ireland Sales race over 6 furlongs in September, a race where George landed a large pot last year with Cashew placing there.
While we don’t focus on winning prizemoney, sales races are an excellent incentive. Often the opposition isn’t very deep.
There’s still 20% of shares left in the Holy Roman Emperor filly. On the back of the news, there was a late night share stampede. Existing owners increased their holding in the filly, granted they have seen her progress while in training.
That’s a wrap for this week.
Newsletter #37.
All the best,
George
