Chantry to bring King George back to Henderson’s House

Charlie talks…Christmas Crackers
Unfortunate news to hear that Leopardstown now follows Chepstow and will race behind closed doors during the festive season. However there is some great racing over the coming days to look forward to and we’ve highlighted a few horses to follow.
Jacamar - Kempton 1.20pm
If all 8 runners stay in here Jacamar looks a solid each way bet at around 12/1. He has shaped with reasonable encouragement in three starts over fences so far. Ground and trip will be in his favour and with the 1st time headgear applied I can see him running above his current mark and being hard to beat. The race has a few other unexposed types however none of them look to be anything out of the ordinary. Danny Mullins an interesting jockey booking also.
Chantry House - Kempton 3.05pm
This is a cracking looking contest with a mix of seasoned perfomers and promising unexposed chasers clashing. Minella Indo, Clan Des Obeaux and Frodon are formidable opponents however I really like the profile of Chantry House here. He had an excellent season over fences last year and shapes like there is plenty more to come. He has plenty of tactical speed which is a huge requirement around Kempton and stamina to boot. Again at the prices he looks a solid each way bet to me in this contest.
The Names Jock - 1.45 Leopardstown
Currently rated 121 after a few handy runs over hurdles since he won his maiden hurdle at Listowel earlier this year. Based on his flat rating I feel there is plenty of mileage left in his hurdles mark. Knowing connections I’ve no doubt a win at Leopardstown at Christmas has probably been on their agenda since that maiden hurlde win. He does need to brush up his jumping a little but he travelled really well through his race the last day before a mistake halted his progress. I also feel a fast run contest will really suit this horse and at odds of 25/1 I beleive he is overpriced due to his last few runs. However I think he can leave them behind here and go close before a possible tilt at the County hurdle at Cheltenham in March(He’d need to win to get his mark up for that)
Mozarov Cocktail - 11.52 Wetherby
This horse has been brought along slowly by connections but looks like he might be ready to show what he can do. Staying chases have always looked to ultimatley be his game and as a result I feel his current chase mark is explotable as he hopfully improves over fences. On snippets of his hurdles form this mark should be managable for him. He should improve from his recent seasonal and chase debut and be ready to go close here. Again looks a solid each way bet around 9/1.
Well Educated - 1.35 Wetherby
Another horse who looks to have been brought along steadily so far. This race will be his handicap debut but I expect him to be well able to win from his current mark and the extra yardage should really suit him too.
Fortescue - 2.50 Chepstow (December 27th)
The Coral Welsh national looks as difficult as ever to solve. However I’m going to take a bit of a chance with a horse called Fortescue for the Henry Daly yard. He shaped ok in what was a competitve race at Newbury on his lastest start. It was noticeable he was always out of his comfort zone there as they went a shade quicker than he wanted. He was then hampered by a faller when he was getting his 2nd wind up and while well beaten in the end he was doing his best work at the finish. With that experience under his belt and a greater emphasis on stamina rather than speed here I can see him staying on well at the finish. There are others in the race with better profiles but at odds of 40/1 I’m happy to take a chance on Fortescue relishing this test.
Syndicate News
Medal of Glory unfortunatly had to miss her engagement earlier this week but is entered over the coming days and fingers crossed we will be able to get her a run somewhere over the coming days.
Not much other news to report and we’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and healthy Christmas.
