Medal of Glory is entered to run in her first race in the UK at Southwell next week.

Best of luck to all her owners and here’s hoping she can show us something to work with over the coming months.

George paid a visit to Claire Mannings this week to drop in on our 2 yearlings to see how their prep is going. We still have shares available in both runners click here for details

Charlie talks…Weekend Racing

Ascot hosts the Grade 1 Long Walk hurdle this weekend .This years contest looks wide open and to my eye this stayers hurdle division is up for grabs at present. Its interesting that Nicky Henderson has decided to have a crack at this prize with Champ. He was a very impressive winner of the Ballymore novices hurdle at Cheltenham in 2019 and after an underwhelming season over fences last year it’s no surprise his trainer is trying his hand back over hurdles. He is the one horse in this race who could blow this field apart and at odds of 4/1 currently I reckon is worth chancing,

The 3.35 at Ascot sees further graded action with all eyes on the enigmatic Goshen. However he has plenty to prove at present and the drying ground conditions will be against him also. The key race here is the Greatwood hurdle and I think with the run under his belt No Ordinary Joe should settle a lot better on this occasion and turn the form around with West Cork.

The opening novices handicap hurdle looks a tricky puzzle to solve however Gary Moore looks to hold the key with Imphal. He has taken very well to hurdling so far and looks on a competitve mark here.

Horses to follow:

Imphal     12.40 -  Ascot - Saturday

Champ 2.25   - Ascot - Saturday

No Ordinery Joe 3.35  - Ascot - Saturday
