Medal of Glory has settled in well to her new surroundings in Newmarket. She recently moved from Paddy Turleys yard to that of George Boughey to target UK All Weather handicaps over the coming weeks.

She has been improving in her work and carried out some stalls training this week. We hope to start entering her for races soon. She is now off a mark of 62 which opens up plenty of options.

Charlie talks…Weekend Racing

The December Gold Cup takes centre stage this weekend at Cheltenham. This years contest looks wide open with plenty of unexposed young chasers up against some well seasoned handicappers. With that in mind I have selected one from each of the above brackets. Zanza is a well seasoned chaser who hasn’t had the rub of the green on a couple of occasions in these big races. He needs to put it all together and might be better over 2 miles than 2 mile 4 but he certainly has the ability to go close of his current mark. Silver Hallmark brings a progressive profile to the table and he looks like a horse who could be well ahead of his mark. He will of come on plenty from his recent start and should be cherry ripe for this assigment. It would be no surpirse to see him going on to bigger and better things after this.

Otherwise the rest of the card hasnt got much of an appealing betting look to it with My Drogo fully expected to win his race once he jumps around ok.

Maybe Bun Doran in the 2 mile handicap chase might represent a bit of value on his 2nd run after a wind op. He is undoubtedly off a mark he can win races from and should go close in this contest with conditions in his favour.

Doncaster also hosts a decent looking Juvenile hurdle and Gary Moore looks like he might have another nice prospect on his hands in Porticello and I think he will be hard to beat here.

Horses to follow:

Bun Doran    1.15 -  Cheltenham - Saturday

Zanza 1.50   - Cheltenham - Saturday

Poticello 2.40  - Doncaster - Saturday
