Camelot to the Rescue

Newsletter #26

Syndicate News

Our yearling fillies are both coming through the stages of breaking, passing with flying colours. The Sioux Nation filly has been backed and is riding away, while the Holy Roman Emperor is long reigning and learning how to steer.

Medal of Glory has been training away with Paddy in Downpatrick, we will be keeping an eye on the maidens in Dundalk over the next week as a target to get her back on the track.

We have something to announce in the coming days for all our UK based syndicate owners and prospective owners, keep your eyes peeled on our social media!

Charlie talks…Weekend Racing

Doncaster stages the last domestic Group 1 race for 2 yr olds tomorrow and it represents the last chance for the all conquering Coolmore operation to win a 2 yr old group 1 race this year. However Luxemburg is a strong candidate for them and has been impressive so far in his both starts. If he were to win it would also represent a 1st domestic group 1 winner for his sire Camelot.

The opening 7 furlong handicap represents a good opportunity for Deputy to get his head back in front. Ground and race conditions should suit him. The Dunkirk Lads is turned out again quickly and drops back to 7 furlongs in the Nursery. He shaped really well three starts ago when beaten a nose and has possibly found the 1 mile trip too far on his latest starts. As a result he could be on a good mark here if suited by dropping back to 7 furlongs.

Meanwhile jumps fans are catered for with a cracking card at Cheltenham on the 2nd day of their open meeting. Ingleby Hollow caught my eye in the first. He has run creditably over hurdles recently and with the ground on the good side this may represent his last proper chance to land a race of this nature before the ground goes against him.

The most competitive looking race on the card is the Pertemps qualifier however Jersey Wonder looks like he is well equipped for a race of this nature and should reward each way support.

Horses to follow:

Jersey Wonder         4.05 -  Cheltenham - Saturday

The Dunkirk Lads 1.30  - Doncaster - Saturday

Deputy   1.00  - Doncaster - Saturday
